Facebook has agreed to pay a settlement of $52m in a court case alleging the company failed to protect workers tasked with moderating disturbing content from the grave mental health impacts of the job.

As part of the settlement, which was announced Tuesday, moderators will get a minimum of $1,000 each from Facebook with the potential for additional compensation if they have been diagnosed with mental health disorders, including PTSD.

When should we silence those who we disagree with?

Controversial commentator Katie Hopkins has had her Twitter account suspended for violating its anti-hate policy.

Twitter typically doesn't comment when an account is suspended.

Late last year Twitter broke its silence on why it has not blocked US President Donald Trump, who in the eyes of many has tweeted or reposted hateful comments. Twitter said it made exceptions for world leaders.
